We’re Here!

It’s been a long week.  Slowly our things left us.. Tuesday, the first set of movers came to take a portion to storage – for the things we’ll need in a few years.  Friday, the second set of movers came to pack and ship a portion to Brussels – for the things we’ll need in a month.

A approves.

We left with two checked bags – for the things we’ll need in a week, just incase they got lost (J’s a planner).  And a carry-on each – for the things we can’t live without.  The rest of it, we threw out/donated..seemed like enough to furnish a small apartment – for the things we don’t need..thanks to our new European lifestyle (!!).  I had to donate most of my closet – which I think deserves a moment of silence in itself (regardless of how much credit J wants to give me, Goodwill is a little bit more sparkly now).

The amount of preparation and anticipation and sad puppy dog faced goodbyes felt endless, but we finally boarded our one-way flight on Sunday to Brussels via London.

Our ride to Europe

This is what we looked like in Dallas waiting for our flight.  Once we landed in Brussels, a little more than 15 hours later, we decided not to share the after photo..apologies.

We had a great plan to get our sleep schedule on track right away, but seeing as how it’s 3am local time and we’ve been awake for two hours, we’re gonna turn on the music and have a dance party..

Thanks so much for the pics and updates. You are so beautiful. Love y’all both.

  2. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Hope you have a safe trip. Now it’s time to begin your adventure. I’m sure you and Justin will love Brussels. Can’t wait to see new pictures. Spoke to your mom Friday. She sounded great.

  5. Loved reading this! I sure wish I would’ve known about the donation of your closet BEFORE it went to Goodwill! Which Goodwill? I may have to go today!

  6. Thanks for the sweet comments!

STL AM: We’re already scoping out where we need to take y’all. And, yes, sooooo confused..’Quoi?’ haha

AB: Ha! It was a drop-off station off of Mockingbird. I might have more if we find a place with an uber small closet…..but you’ll have to come visit us to get it 😉

Awww this makes me all warm and fuzzy inside : ) your smiles bring so much joy to everyone you meet. Two beautiful people who are truely in love, taking risks together, starting a new life together, and writing an inspirational love story. Amy

Congrats on the move. Looking forward to following your adventures!

  10. Europe is fun. I remember tuning in to a US Army radio broadcast as I drove past Sigonella air force base in Sicily. The announcer said “Remember driving in Europe can be challenging” I guess he wasn’t aloud to swear on air. Best of luck and keep up the posts.
